Time is flying by. It’s August already. What’s up with that? And this weekend is one of only two weekends I’ll even be in town this month. Really looking forward to getting away a bit – and taking some time off – spending time with A. and lots of pals.

When I get off work this coming Tuesday, I will start a 6-day stretch of time off. Six days in a row! In the middle of it, I’ll be heading up to Tahoe to see the Perseids meteor shower. Having lived in SF for 17 years, seeing astronomical phenomena doesn’t come easy – the City is too bright and there’s usually fog anyhow. So getting away from the city lights (plus it’s a new moon next week) and fog (weather report is calling for clear skies – keeping fingers crossed) should set us up for a glorious show. I’m almost tempted to go out and buy a real camera for the occasion.

Then a weekend home before two more consecutive weekends away. Gonna try and plan a summer BBQ fest in there sometime during the home weekend. It has been too long since I have cooked for my tribe.

Life is good right now. This is going to be a good month. But for today, I’ll do a little work and play a couple of games. It’s been awhile since I’ve played any games that were not my own.
