Weekend

This was as close to a perfect weekend as I could have imagined.

I’d like more, please.

helllloooo earth

Haven’t had an earthquake wake me in a while. But this one did. Just now.

Sometimes it’s the cat that keeps me up nights, sometimes it’s the shifting of tectonic plates. I prefer the cat.

must… have… some…

I don’t often remember my dreams – never really have. Maybe 3-4 times a year I wake up with a vivid memory of a dream and usually they are either disaster dreams, action/adventure style dreams or occasionally about sex, and I mostly wake up exhausted, drenched in sweat and with my heart pounding.

But this morning I woke up from a “Quest for the Holy Grail” dream. I was on the supreme quest to acquire two pints of ice cream from Bi-Rite: Salted Caramel (my favorite flavor there) and Coconut Sorbet (which I’m not even sure they make). There were some action/adventure moments – rushing thru San Francisco, Bullitt-style, fighting the crowds outside to get in… so busy, people clawing at each other… and then when I finally got to the front, cajolling them to sell me a whole pint when all they wanted to give me was a small scoop of each.

Jubilation! Success! I got my two pints – one for me, one for her. And emerged from the store, parked on top of the hill in Dolores Park and reveled in my achievement – eating my Salted Caramel and surveying a cloudless San Francisco skyline.

And then I woke up. Happy. Relaxed.

An online dream dictionary says: “To see or eat ice cream in your dream, denotes pleasure and satisfaction with your life. It is also an indicative of good luck and success in love.”

Yup.

random tidbits

I <3 my iPhone. Sure, there are a few minor annoyances like the painful slowness of the EDGE network, and the way my gmails always CC me on the phone so I’ve basically become my own worst spammer. I haven’t figured out how to use the iPod very well while I’m also doing other things. And so far I’ve been charging it every night – it basically goes down about 3/4 of the way during the day, but I think I’ve been using it alot and not leaving it on standby so it has been probably eating the battery more.

Things I love – the way it handles text messages, the quality of the camera images, the phone interface, having Safari on it, the weather feature (including the little Y! in the lower right that gives you a city guide for the city you are looking at). And how fast it is on a wireless network…

I have an inflamed piguecula. It’s nothing serious but my eye is a little sore and I’m happiest when it is closed. It should be better in a couple days. I’m putting some fun drops in. Wheee.

Work is good. Busy. Exciting. It was nice not having to do an E3 push. I have lots of cool things I’m working on. I should be better about meeting deadlines.

I am between games right now. Not really playing anything regularly since I got to Lvl 50 in PuzzleQuest.

And I’m dating someone. And so far… it is pretty great.

Blogging from the phone

Well, I totally succumbed to iPhone lust. In fact i’m blogging from it via the safari browser. It’s taking a bit of practice to get used to the keyboard (and i need to figure out how to turn off the clicking noise when i’m typing) but i think i’ll get used to it pretty quick.

It’s a pretty slick device and it’s only been active for an hour so it’s still way new. Not even sure what all the cool features are yet.

More to come.
