mmmm…. new Mac

Ordered one of these bad boys today. It should be here when I return from my trip. Supposedly it’ll run the game under Bootcamp too. That remains to be seen.

My current Mac is on it’s last legs, about 4 years after I got it. It was my “I got a job” present to myself and it was at the time a top-o-the-line machine back then. Lately, it’s been overheating and just seizing up if I leave it on for more than an hour or so. I’m pretty much only using it for banking at this point and I’m backing up my files every single time I do anything. Big Daddy called it the most expensive check register I could own. I’m certainly going to take it in and try and get it attended to, then maybe donate it. Dunno.

I love a new computer.

sooooo freakin’ cute

Some of my compatriots over at HQ are working on a new game for the Wii: The Sims.

And now I really do have to leave the house.

Step. Away. From. The Computer…

Yes, yes…

I do know that my formatting is all messed up. That’s what happens when you start playing with your blog while you are running out the door to meet friends.

Will fix it later…

How I spent my Thanksgiving vacation…

I’m only about half way thru, but I’ve been having a blast with my new Wii and am planning on spending some more quality time with it tonight. Been seeing some friends, bonding with Cheese and basically having some time to myself. And I saw the new Bond movie today. I liked it better than Borat. Heh.

Tomorrow it’s a geek field trip, including ferry rides and scale models. And then sooner or later I really need to work on my presentation. It’s getting to be that time.

Gotta go. Zelda awaits.

Have I lost my sense of humor?

After the day of the killer headache (which btw was not caused by a hangover… that was last week), I bailed on going to rock out at a Guitar Hero party and opted for a movie instead. I let N pick the movie since he doesn’t get to movies as much since the baby was born and he picked Borat – which I agreed to since it’s been getting lots of great reviews and seemed like the pop culture film of the moment.

The ratio of turning away from the screen to laughter was about 10:1 for me. I get that it was a parody intended to mock the we’re-the-best-ness of the USA. I get that showing American’s at their worst is one way to try and wake people up to how bad Stupid American Syndrome is. But I just didn’t find it funny or clever or insightful or even pleasant to watch to the point that I thought about walking out. Mostly I just wanted it to be over. Is that considered modern-day slapstick? I’m not a fan of the Three Stooges either. Humor is in the eye of the beholder, methinks.

ok. off to the office. yes… on a Sunday.

New games. Not much sleep

I keep waking up at 4:21 am. I lay awake for a couple hours. Sometimes I work, sometimes I lay there. But then around 6 or 6:30 am I fall asleep and then I can’t wake up for work. Just can’t win.

Trying to go out and do stuff. Trying to see friends, old and new. 46 bugs in my queue waiting for me to review/close/assign. 8 hours of meetings for 3-4 days of every week.

And wanting to play new games. Guitar Hero II. yeah.

Sleepy. so sleepy.
