Comments…

Comments are back open for business and I just upgraded my version of MT-Blacklist so hopefully the online poker ads will go away. Far, far away.

Kudos to the guy that writes this helpful plugin for MovableType. I ran into a bug when upgrading this morning and he had a new version that fixed my bug up on the site within a couple hours. I decided to make a donation – and I don’t do that terribly often for freeware (tho I’ve been known to send a postcard for postcardware).

Started working on the redesign of the blog in earnest – drew up some mockups, thought about re-organizing, taking out stuff that seems useless (like the calendar), adding some stuff (lists and such). The stylesheets are going to take me a while to redo but at least I made a little progress.

Also have been thinking about resolutions. Didn’t do very well on last year’s, tho I did take up a sport (running). I don’t really like it much, tho. And I did spend some more time with Staz and the Engineer.

End of the year round-up coming soon…. back to finishing up my staff’s reviews now…

Living with the Hellements…

7.5 hours on the I5 today. Yucky. I think I may fly to LA next time. There was a huge accident. There was a thunderstorm. Ok, several… and then there was the dustorm that slowed traffic to about 10 MPH.

Then coming home to Cheese. Currently he is staring at the ceiling and meowing his head off. I have a feeling I won’t be sleeping much tonight. He bit me in the head already. Bit me. Drew blood. He’s flipping out.

comments only open to registered users…

I need to shut down comments to unregistered users until I can figure out why the online poker crap is getting around my spam blocker. If you want to comment, feel free to get a Typekey account. I’ll try and figure it out this weekend as well as properly implement Typekey.

ugh.

a hodgepodge of links

Everyone deserves a white trash xmas.

Ah…. xmas at EA. I’m betting our HR VP is hoping for less media/internet coverage under his tree this year.

“From the time people were kids, people have laid their heads on their mothers’ laps to get their ears cleaned,” he said. “This is made to be quite close to the real thing.” Yeah. ok then.

How does she do it? With lots of hot women apparently.

And who wouldn’t want to visit this themepark?

a coupla things

By now maybe you noticed the little picture over there in the right hand column. Yes, it’s true. I finally purchased a phone with a camera in it. Takes pics, takes video, has a speakerphone, kinda little and cute – after owning the Nokia brick for a couple years I made a total impulse buy at the mall. Those who know me know that the statement “I made an impulse by at the mall” is something I say about as often as “Wow, I really wish I was Mormon!”. So far the only drawback of the new phone seems to be the battery time. Other than that it’s a pretty fun new gadget and should support the new mobile game that we’re working on for next year.

Interesting article about my hometown. thanks, Big Daddy

Company party was Friday night. Big Daddy came up from LA to escort me and we dressed to the nines.

Going to LA for xmas. Going to be in SF for NY. Good times with Big Daddy. Give a holler if’n you want to get together in either locale as I’m taking January off from drinking…

it was a dark and stormy night…

The wind outside my window is absolutely crazed – I don’t remember a night like this and Cheese is totally freaking out about it. He’s pacing back and forth and knocking things off tables and making me wonder if he is going to let me sleep at all tonight. He is biting my elbow as I type. owwwwcheee.

Weekend update – there was much funfilled action on Saturday night including the introduction of the “SlimJack” into my vocabulary. That would be a SlimFast and Jack Daniels cocktail, blended by the bartender at one of my favorite restaurants for the wacky trashy crowd at the table next to me. I didn’t try it myself but Designer Boy said he’d give it a whirl sometime. ewwwweeeee.

After dinner I was off to a party of Bay Area game developers. I came to the realization that I am perhaps the only lesbian in game development. sigh.

I can’t imagine that there could be a lesbian out there that will understnd that I’m completely addicted to World of Warcraft. Well, understand and want to date me. Hopeless…

Sunday? Big work nightmare that kept me online for hours. Ugh. Can’t wait until I no longer have 24/7 responsibility for a website.

i need to remember to…

… write about the baby seal continuum.

From “we’re not saving the baby seals” to “we’re not clubbing them either”.
