Still nameless…

After 3 days, the kitten is still nameless. I’ve been calling him a variety of things: Scooter, Little Dude, StopScratchingTheVenetianBlinds…

Vacation has been very relaxing. Exactly what I’ve been wanting – lots of down time, some time with kitten, nights out with friends. TV, a good book, some games, yummy food… I could get used to this.

kitten in da house…

well, actually in the bathroom. the SPCA recommends 24 hours in a confined space so the little guy is going to spend the night in the bathroom. he’s dang cute and pretty rambunctious.

I expect he’ll be ready for vistors later this week. Let me know if you want to come by for some kitten lovin’

No, I don’t have a name for him yet. I’m going to get to know him a bit first.

vegas… baby.

the best part about going to Las Vegas is getting to come home to San Francisco at the end of the trip. good to see the fam. great to come back to my nice quiet apartment. my bed. have i mentioned how much i love my bed?

had a pretty good time overall, but mostly just felt tired alot. after getting off work on Thursday and then heading out Friday morning, i think my body and my brain finally just gave in. today i felt completely devoid of energy – i’m really hoping the two weeks off will be enough to get me reinvigorated to go back to work.

all things considered, i think i’m going to settle for one kitten, instead of two. i’m not quite ready to become the crazy cat lady of Noe Valley.

instant gratification

Comments are fixed. Really. I mean it this time. Give it a whirl…

Got an email from a friend yesterday telling me about a man she’d been dating – a nice Jewish doctor that she met on Match.com. She had stopped dating him because it seemed like he had some anger issues that he needed to work out. Turns out that was a really good decision and here’s why.

yipes.

My trip to LA

Down in the Southland for some work, some play and Big Daddy’s birthday – started the weekend at a not so lovely hotel and moved to a much nicer one about a block from Big Daddy’s place. Got work out of the way in the first day and a half and have moved on to play.

I like to come down here to step out of my regular world – forget about girls and work and all the big things. Every visit with Big Daddy brings a new and completely bizarre experience that is out of my normal realm of existence. Over the summer it was the children’s beauty pageant. And last night it was something completely different.

I knew we were going to the Rockapella show as our Friday night plan. While I’m not a huge fan of acapella (tho I can appreciate the talent behind it) B.D. is acapella-crazy and got tickets for the show weeks ago. What I didn’t know is that the show was a fundraiser for a Catholic High School and would be held in the cafetorium of the school in some LA surburb-ish town called Lakewood. So it was me and my gay boyfriend sitting on the bleachers at a sold out acapella show surrounded by Catholic teenagers and their parents and grandparents. I’ve never felt more gay in my life and not in the good way…

During intermission (which consisted of sales of soda and M&Ms), B.D. bought some raffle tickets and we distributed them in the various coffee cans in front of the gift baskets. He insisted that one of us was going to win and I asked him if he would squeal like a schoolgirl if he did – and of course he did win and he did squeal on his way up to get his 2 tickets for Magic Mountain, DVD of Pippin and pack of Lay’s Flats (a Pringles knock off that left a nasty taste in mouth). I love this boy, I tell ya…

Tonight is the Phacts of Life. I’m guessing I’ll feel super gay but in the good way at this show.

what do you post in your blog?

I got asked this tonight and while answering the question I realized just how self-indulgent my blog is. And since my comments are not really quite working correctly, I’m not really even sure if anyone is even really reading the damn thing.

In other news, pigs can fly.

Maybe I could get a date if I moved to Oklahoma. Or should I call it Oklahomo?

ah…. sunday.

i’d write a weekend report, but this weekend hasn’t really had mucy activity that deserves reporting. i had been hoping for rain so that i’d have more of an excuse to hang out at home and just enjoy my quiet, clean house and garden. turns out i didn’t really need an excuse – and that i could just make that choice.

friday night was the only activity of note: the Prez Debate as a drinking game. Bush saying anything resembling “it’s hard work” = drink. then off to dinner with Staz & the Engineer and a friend who was visiting from LA who needed to hang out in the City with some queers in the midst of his family vacation. did a bit of Castro bar hopping with him and a newly rediscovered old friend from my Planetout days before sending the boys off on their own to close the bars.

other than that it’s been some gaming (Pikmin2, starting a new book – The Known World, and cooking for myself.

off to LA on Wednesday for Big Daddy’s birthday (and a bit of work stuff). lots of fun plans with my favorite gay boy in the world, including the Phacts of Life and a Rockapella show.
