Cat Survey…

This article was released with “the caution that the sample may not be representative of the average UK cat”, but it looks like “many cats became more confident, more interactive, more ‘talkative,’ less nervous and more demanding over time.” I wonder if American cats might become less demanding…

Take the color test

This test was harder than I thought it would be. I scored a shameful 13% the first time and a respectable 88% the second time around.

starts off slow…

this is a pretty big video clip, around 14 MB and it starts off slow, but hang in there… it is worth it. You probably need Windows Movie Player to watch it.

sadly no video…

although the imagery is pretty vivid for this story.

having a small gathering on Sunday for Superbowl (somewhat interesting) and Survivor (can’t freakin’ wait). My bet for who is voted off first: Jerri.

it’s the first gathering at my place although i’ve been there for a few months already. maybe i’ll even get some of my pics up on the walls before people show up. right now it’s still pretty dang blank.

now i’m gettin’ desperate…

… about Spam. In less than 48 hours, I recieved over 350 pieces of email. Out of that, 5 were from friends, 6 or 7 were digests from email groups that I’m on and the rest was crap.

In a last ditch effort to hang on to the email address I’ve been using for the last 5 years or so, I’m trying out Spam Interceptor. It comes highly recommended by a pal and will take me a bit of time to get configured, but before going down a very tiresome road of changing my email address on everything I’m signed up for, I’ll give it a whirl.

Spent the weekend in Tahoe and felt a bit on the surly side. Listening to my friends talk about their weddings should make me happy – I really am happy for them – being in Noah & Cara’s wedding is something I feel honored about and am totally looking forward to. I think it’s great that they’ve found each other and get to have this big celebration, but I can’t help being pissed off that I can’t have one.

Sure, I could have a commitment ceremony – but it still wouldn’t be legal, because of the hatred and ignorance of the guys who run the whole show. My parents would probably come, and probably be pretty supportive, but they would never actaully accept it as a wedding and chances are pretty good they wouldn’t really understand the reason behind it.

and that pisses me off. grrrr.

MyYahoo Beta of RSS feeds

RSS has long been on my list of things I’d like to know more about, and a project coming up at work is going to give me a great opportunity to learn a ton about it.

In the meantime, Yahoo has a beta available that allows you to add an RSS feed to your MyYahoo page. It’s very cool – I added the Fishwrap to mine first thing.

You can add my site by referencing http://www.oddgirl.com/index.rdf

I’m planning on doing some updates to the site in the next couple weeks, including re-opening comments and fixing the wonky CSS that doesn’t get interpreted right by IE for WinXP or Safari. Stay tuned…
