December 2003

mmmmm…. hanukah food

One of the best things about Jewish holidays is the food. Last night it was yummy, yummy brisket, latkes, apple sauce, matzo balls, a big salad and lots of laughter and dreidel playing (I lost again this year).

It was one of the best nights I’ve had in a long time. Relaxing and easy.

Change is good?!? @%#$!@%&

Nothing should change in December. But for some reason my life always seems to turn in a new direction in the last couple months of the year. Last year I was finishing up school and getting ready to re-enter the work world. The year before I was breaking up with one lover and starting a relationship with another.

This year, who knows what starting the New Year will be like. I’m getting further estranged from my family (except for my totally wonderful and sweet brother) and unsure where my personal life is heading, again. Couldn’t wait until January???? sheesh.

The silver lining is certainly my job. After almost a year there, the honeymoon is over, and I still love going to work almost every day. It’s stable and interesting and has lots of fun. The people are great… the games are great and I really want to stay there for a long time.

So, add to above New Year’s Resolutions:

6. Travel for the entire month December in 2004. Don’t talk to anyone.

new year’s resolutions

might as well start thinking about these now:

1. lose weight
2. use gym membership more often (won’t be hard, since i’m not using it at all now)
3. take up a sport, take a class, learn something new
4. have a year where my job is the most important thing in my life
5. see S & B more often

that’s a start.
