can’t…. move…. again…

well, i’ve moved again. 4th time in one and a half years. yeesh. i hope i don’t have to move again for a while. so does spunky. he’s been hiding under the bed for a couple hours now. when he comes out tomorrow he should be pretty excited – he has his own deck in this house.

well it wasn’t the first thing i did, but i already took down and threw out the very annoying windchime. i’ve never really liked windchimes. they try too hard to be serene.

my back is killin’ me. where the heck are those motrin?

the movers did a good job. nothing broken so far and somehow they managed to get my couch in the door. so much better than having friends do it.

i’ve heard about it, but now i’ve seen it

so i come screaming out of the caldecott tunnel the other night and was confronted by dozens and dozens of goats. i sooo wanted to pull over and stare at them.

i move into my new apartment the day after tomorrow. i have a ton of packing to do still, but my new place is all clean and ready for me. the bathroom is pretty sparkly and the floors have been mopped. the kitchen is ready for my first home-cooked meal.

busy few days coming up – should be nutty crazy busy. but i should be all moved in and settled by monday. i’ll be on dialup for awhile until i get cable hooked up – although while i was over there tonight when i turned on my computer i had a wireless signal. cool.

it was cool. and very loud.

Just got back from e3 – the big video game conference in LA. It seemed to me like there were about a million army games. i guess there is a big market for ‘em, i’ve never really played the army games or the first-person shooters. Tron2 looks really fun. so did Rise of Nations. I played a little Vice City for the PC – that was cool. and the Baseball games (my favorite sport and sport game) just keep getting better.

what else… well, i’m pretty sure i saw at least one other lesbian, but ya never know… there were lots of guys in their mid-20s and for the most part i thought they needed showers. the women working the show (the booth babes) are a bizarre group. i can’t even imagine what kind of life i would have had to have to have turned into them.

tonight out to dinner with eriic and a pal of his who i think is a hoot. should be very fun – i’m quite hungry.

off to E3

i’m taking advantage of the fact that i work for a video game company and i’m heading down to LA to go to E3. It’s a huge video game conferences complete with lots of 1st person shooters, booth babes and lots and lots of geeks. i’m wondering if i’ll be the only lesbian in the whole place…. hmmmm, i’d say odds are good.

i’ll be hanging out with my pal, eric and i’ll make some effort to see my sister and she’ll either be busy or stand me up. i’m only there for about 36 hours and one of my big goals is to see the Matrix on Thursday with all the other dorks.

you never can tell

well, i’ve been working on a project at work since basically the day i walked in the door and today it launched. i had my doubts about it all the way through and since it was a project i inherited i didn’t feel like i could suggest that we bag it.

it wasn’t a total bomb, but lots of the users hated it and very vocally on the message boards. i know i shouldn’t let it bug me, but i just watched a bunch of people work their butts off and basically now have to listen to users bitch and complain about it.

i keep saying next project won’t be like this. i hope i’m right.
