I’ve always said that this war is just George Jr. getting revenge for his daddy.
I’m back in SF and freezin’ my ass off. It’s cold and windy and wet and just downright nasty. I got an email today about a 3-month sublet in Kauai. I’m sooo tempted. Anyone want to sponsor me?
Had an amazing dinner last night at a Chinese restaurant that’s actually in Chinatown. I didn’t know it was possible. There were about 20 courses – here’s some of the stuff I remember eating: Chicken cooked in rice wine, jellyfish, scallop foo yung, these amazing boiled peanuts (really!), spicy chicken with vegetable, whole fried fish (we think it was sea bass), this cured beef thing, pork shank (which gave the word succulent new meaning), and the last thing that the chef sent out – because we were there with Paul and his family who chatted up the cook in Mandarin – was this duck that was fried and then braised. It was one of the most delicious meals I’ve had in a long time and I wasn’t hungry again until 2 pm today.
well, i’m in LA and it has been lovely so far. i’ve been cooking up a storm for the party tonight and the sangria is chillin’

i’m heading to the southland on Monday for a week to stay at TFiDL (The Finest in Duplex Living). any fun LA suggestions for next week? we are talking about taking in A Glorious Xmas, because ” the creative blend of Christmas carols, pageantry of live animals, flying angels and special effects, the nativity unfolds with colorful wonder,” has got to be good…
